The basic idea of the project is to combine several metaphors, interpretations, symbols originating from and focusing on Polish, but also world artists, precursors and discoverers. We wanted to choose outstanding individuals who are also known in Japanese culture and education. We found metaphors and symbols among the works of: the greatest composer and pianist, Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin (who is also a cultural phenomenon of Japan); our astronomer and astrologer Nicolaus Copernicus; and the first drawing, a sketch of the Pavilion's shape/facade, refers to the sphere of activities of the Polish scientist, winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry and Physics - Maria Sklodowska-Curie. We wanted the structure of our object to resemble a drawn CHEMICAL STRUCTURE, and the entire center of the object to emit a BLUE GLOW, literally referring to the elements discovered by our Nobel Prize winner. We designed our facade of semi-formal (Archimedean) polyhedra as a literal interpretation of the CHEMICAL FORMULA sketches. We designed our graphics building the structure of the Pavilion from prefabricated openwork, glazed or solid shapes, connected by "chemical bonds". THE CENTER OF THE WORLD, the heart of our solar system, is Chopin's piano, which, according to Copernicus' groundbreaking theory, has become like a star at the center of our Pavilion. We create a SYMPHONY - a harmonious combination of sound, light and spatial structure.
